The Florida Department of Education is raising the bar for all of our students through
The more rigorous academic standards guide our instruction for the more complex FCAT 2.0 and the higher achievement levels. The goal is that, when students graduate from high school, they will be college or careerready and able to compete nationally and internationally.
As a result of raising the bar, initially, some students may not score as well on the new FCAT 2.0 levels as they had previously scored on the original FCAT. You may begin to see the results of raising the bar on our District's Winter Diagnostic results which are based on the new FCAT 2.0 levels. Typically, achievement levels will rebound as teachers and students adjust to the higher expectations.
The School District of Palm Beach County is committed to providing a quality education for all of our students. Now more than ever, communication and cooperation between home and school is crucial for the success of our students.
Thank you for your support.
