This position is primarily focused on literacy leadership and instructional support while teaching two Intensive Reading classes as part of the instructional program.

Western Academy Charter School is seeking an experienced, passionate educator to serve as our Literacy Coordinator. This unique position combines instructional leadership, literacy intervention support, data-driven decision making, teacher development, and direct student instruction. The Literacy Coordinator plays a key role in supporting student achievement, strengthening literacy instruction, and advancing schoolwide literacy goals from Kindergarten through 8th grade.

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution required; Master's degree preferred

Valid Florida Educator Certificate

Reading Endorsement, Reading K-12 Certification, and/or ESOL Endorsement preferred

Experience in literacy instruction, reading intervention, instructional coaching,
PLC's, curriculum support, or related educational leadership roles

Strong knowledge of Florida B.E.S.T. Standards, evidence-based literacy practices, assessment data analysis, progress monitoring, and MTSS/RTI processes

Strong communication, collaboration, organizational, and relationship-building skills

Passion for improving student achievement and supporting high-quality literacy instruction across all grade levels

Florida Teaching Certification (Required)
